Experienced hooker Mickey Higham has re-joined Leigh Centurions, the club where his Rugby League career started.

Leigh paid Warrington Wolves £50,000 for the services of Higham. He could make his debut for the Championship leaders against Featherstone Rovers at this weekend’s Summer Bash at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool.

Higham joins the club until the end of 2016, with the option of extending for a further 12 months. However, he will not be able to play against his former club when the Wolves meet the Centurions in a Challenge Cup quarter final tie.

The 34-year old always had the desire to finish his career at the club where he started, he played for Leigh between 1999-2001 before moving to St Helens.

Throughout his career he won the 2002 Super League Grand Final with the Saints and three Challenge Cup’s with Warrington in 2008, 2009 and 2012.

Higham also had a spell at Wigan Warriors between 2006-2008.
